Spring Event 2024

The Association’s annual Spring Afternoon Tea took place on a cool Sunday afternoon in the Community Hall. It was a fabulous event with over 60 community members, including children, in attendance and enjoying each other’s company. Several regulars who were unable to attend sent us their apologies.

The event was organised by the Social Committee, including Carol Mackel, Marilyn Jones, Melanie Rowe and Rundi Larsen. Mary Louise Brammer produced a beautiful flyer once again, and provided valuable assistance along with Trevor Graham, Peter Jones Eve Morris and Jenny Morgan.

To celebrate the arrival of Spring, the Hall was festooned with flowers and the food was beautifully displayed on tables adorned with white tablecloths. As always, we are grateful to Priestley’s Gourmet Delights for their sweet treats and to Anne Reed for supplying the delicious sandwiches. Marilyn and Rundi once again concocted a delicious punch for all to enjoy.

As they entered, guests received a glass of bubbly to sip while engaging in cheerful conversation with old and new friends. President Charles Morgan welcomed guests, including several new residents to Battery Point who have now joined the Association.

The Spring Afternoon Tea has become an integral part of the Battery Point calendar. Its popularity indicates again that, as a community, we value social interaction with our neighbours and friends and are fortunate to have willing helpers and a delightful venue to make it happen.
